Gift Guide for Dad – Father’s Day
Time to celebrate Dad! On June 18, 2017, Father’s Day will be upon us and it’ll be time to honor the Dad in your life. What do you get the Dad in your life? Here are some suggestions on the different Dads out there.
The opinions provided in this post are 100% my own.

One of the best reasons having Father’s Day in the Summer has got to be grilling season! For the Grilling & Chilling Dad, a must-have is a heavy-duty grill brush. This is perfect for the modern gas griller or the charcoal grill purist.
How about protecting Grilling Dad’s hands from the intense flames of the BBQ with a pair of grilling gloves – and, they are waterproof too.
Want to impart some smoky flavor? Try wood planks. They make for a cool presentation when comes time to chow down. And then Dad won’t have to do the dishes.
The Electronics Dad is going to love a pair of bluetooth noise-cancelling headphones. My husband uses these for traveling and it is amazing how they cut out the airplane noise while still providing quality sound.
I know that I have written about the Echo in the past, but really, I just think it is so awesome. I use my Echo, or Alexa, as we call her in our home to check the weather, traffic, set cooking timers, play my Amazon Music. My daughter even uses it to spell check words and asks Alexa to solve math problems. Alexa will even sing a song or do a knock-knock joke when prompted.
In a couple of weeks, June 28th to be exact, Amazon will be releasing Echo Show. Though this item is currently available for pre-order and won’t arrive until after Father’s Day. I think Electronics Dad wouldn’t mind the 10-day wait.
For the Dad who likes to be the workshop, try a magnetic wristband. This is one of those, “why didn’t I think of that?” ideas. Not only will it hold onto nails and screws, but it also can be a holding area for a screwdriver and gives the Handyman Dad an extra hand.
One of the hottest tools for Handyman Dad has got to be the Angle-izer Template Tool. I have seen this in action and it is really cool. This four-sided ruler allows for any angle and the mechanism slides and locks into place, which makes it perfect for creating a reusable stencil for endless applications. I think that my Dad might appreciate this one.
For the Dad who is the lover of gadgets, consider a Swiss Army Knife. There are all sorts of models depending on what Gadget Dad’s needs are – the Hunstman, the Fieldmaster, the Cybertool, just to mention a few. My Dad bought me my Swiss Army Knife when I was a kid and I still have it and use it to this day. If Gadget Dad doesn’t already have one, this would make an awesome gift.
Another fun gadget for Dad is the Guardman credit card multi-tool. This survival card is equipped with a few tools that Gadget Day may need in his day to day – beer opener, multiple size wrenches, can opener, screw driver, beard comb. What more could Dad need? And it fits conveniently inside his wallet.
Give the gift of a better grip with a new golf glove. Or how about some new golf balls – these may need more replacing than other items if your Golf Dad is less than accurate with his drive. I’m just saying.
I hope that these suggestions inspire you to get something special for your Dad. He totally deserves it! Of course, there is bound to be a Dad out there that has everything and wants for nothing and a gift card may be in order. A day of grilling and lawn games sounds like fun or maybe hit the links with Dad. Whatever it is, just let Dad know that he is appreciated.
Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads out there.
